What is a Cerocshop ?

Four hours of personal tuition with 8 - 10 couples (you don't have to bring your own partner) offering individual help and advice. Run regularly at the Flexibility Health & Fitness Studio, Silver Street, Bedford (opposite Debenhams) on a Sunday from 10:30am - 3:30pm with an hours break for lunch.

Please note that lunch is not included in the cost but arrangements are made with a nearby pub or Pizza Hut.

UPDATE:
Much like the freestyle nights, Cerocshops are now to become far more widespread. As from April, apart from our customary Bedford venue, we will also be running Cerocshops in both Daventry and Nottingham (see below). This expansion now makes these very useful workshops readily available to far more Ceroc Central customers. The appropriate fliers aare now in circulation; if you are interested, give us a call.

When are they ?

No longer maintained due to lack of time. Please either contact the Ceroc Central office or check out the offical Ceroc Central website.

Beginner In the Beginners Cerocshop, the teacher focuses upon seven to ten basic Ceroc moves, developing essential technique and style. Attention is given to freestyle and how to put moves together, hopefully overcoming, one and for all, the "what do I do next" dilemma! At the end (clutching your Cerocshop T-shirt!) you depart a better, more confident dancer and more able to enjoy your weekly Ceroc class. It is recommended you have taken part in at least three Ceroc nights before attending this Cerocshop.
Intermediate 1 The Intermediate 1 Cerocshop is for those who are already well-versed in the beginners moves but are not so confident in the Intermediate class. This workshop focuses upon sixteen or so "essential" intermediate moves, the majority of which form a vital part of the Ceroc dancer's repertoire. A "Dance Addict" T-shirt is handed out upon completion. Those experiencing very few problems completing most intermediate moves but are keen to improve on their overall style should attend a Style workshop.
Intermediate 2 This is exactly the same as Intermediate One but looks at a different sixteen moves.
Style In the Style workshop, apart from ensuring that the basics of hold, posture, turning/spinning and walking are correct, we focus upon the introduction of manouevres such as triple-stepping, Colombian walks, twisting and "heels" into your dancing. Mirrors will be available - so there is every chance that, come the end of the day, your dance floor style will have significantly improved. There will be an opportunity for a question and answer session at the end. This workshop is for those who have little or no difficulty in coping with the Intermediate moves. A "Dance Addict" T-shirt is handed out upon completion.
Comments:This workshop is good for those who wish to enhance their repertoire with some of the 'flashier' moves. Some of the moves are slightly more complex and strenuous than ordinary Intermediate so be warned. If you are still struggling with Intermediate or you have not been dancing very long then I would think twice about attending this. That said, if you are competent enough to attend then I would thoroughly recommend it! It is very much an ad-hoc kind of day - if you think there is a move you want to learn then just ask. I would suggest you take a notebook of some description as you go through a huge amount of variations during the day and there is no way you are going to remember them all without some kind of prompting. In the words of Nike: Just do it!

Sounds great! Where do I send the money ?

Cost £25 (£21 students/£18 unemployed). These Cerocshops occur most Sundays; ring the office regarding availability - then send in your application form (available from the front desk at any Ceroc venue or directly from the office) with the appropriate payment. Telephone bookings can be held for a maximum of three working days. Act sooner rather than later! It is usual for these workshops to be booked several weeks ahead. Successful applicants will be sent written confirmation. Those unfamiliar with Bedford will receive directions to the venue. A refund is not available to anyone who cancels less than seven days before the workshop (unless a suitable replacement can be found in the time remaining). If the workshop is cancelled, and no suitable alternative date can be found, refunding will be immediate.
